Tom Seabourne Ph.D
Tom Seabourne, Ph.D. exercise science, two-time All-American, member of the United States Taekwondo Team, and National International AAU Taekwondo Champion. He was an ESPN Professional Karate Association full-contact karate winner, varsity tennis player at Penn State, and USPTA tennis pro.
Tom currently holds 4 ultra-distance cycling World Records and finished in the top ten in the Race Across America (RAAM).
Tom and Chilly' Maximum Performance Program
Tom is certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), the Cooper Clinic, the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and he is a Master Trainer for Keiser Corporations Power Pacing program and Kickboxing through Thomas Enterprises. He traveled to 40 major cities in 1998 providing conferences and expos on topics including women and metabolism, awesome abs., lower back programs, strength training for women, strength training for older adults, sport psychology, mind/body unity, athletic programming, exercise analysis, fitness updates, programs for children, programming for the shoulder and the knee.
Tom has authored five published books Self Defense: A Body Mind Approach, 1986, Prospect Press, A Guide To Inner Strength, 1993, Hunter Textbooks, Cross-Training, 1996, Eddie Bowers, Taekwondo, 1997 Human Kinetics and The Martial Arts Athlete, 1998, YMAA. He writes a weekly fitness column in the Longview News Journal (80,000 readers) entitled Your Personal Trainer. He also enjoys promoting fitness once a week on his radio call-in talkshow called Total Fitness. His newest books Power Body: Injury Prevention and Sports Enhancement, and Power Pacing will be released by YMAA and Human Kinetics in the Spring and Fall of 1999.

Winner: RAAM Open West. •Top ten in the Race Across America (RAAM). Oklahoma State 24-hour cycling record: 458 miles. •Holder of two Texas state cycling records. •Holder of Arkansas and Louisiana state cycling records. •National 12-hour record holder: 229 miles. •1995 24-hour Texas State Cycling Champion.
Taekwondo
Two-time national heavyweight tae kwon do champion. Runner-up in the World Taekwondo Championships. Two-time North American and Pan American Champion. •Two-time All American Athlete. ESPN PKA Full Contact Champion. Chairman of the 1998 USTU National Taekwondo Injury Prevention Committee.
Tennis
Commendation from the United States House of Representatives. Scholarship athlete; played number one on high school tennis and number four on Penn State University tennis teams. Pennsylvania District II doubles champion.
Misc.
Recently Tom appeared on a variety of television programs Good Morning Texas (twice), Sally Jessy Raphael, ESPN's Full Contact Karate, Texas Country Reporter, and Pride of Texas.
As a two-time National AAU Taekwondo Champion, Silver Medalist in the World Championships, and ESPN Professional Karate Association winner, Tom was featured in Sports Illustrated magazine 3 times. Ultimately as the Sports Illustrated Athlete of the Month.
